FACTS ABOUT CREATION: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 “Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:26-27 “And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 3:9 “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.” John 1:3 WHY DO WE NEED SALVATION? WHAT ARE WE BEING SAVED FROM? As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” ... For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Romans 3:10-12, 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."Revelation 21:1-4 (Read whole chapter) “And if your hand offends thee, cut, it off: it is better for thee to enter into (eternal) life maimed, then having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worms die not, and the fire is not quenched. And if they foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into (eternal) life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched.” Mark 9:43-45 “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:22-23 "Jesus answered and said to him, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'" (John 3:3) WHAT MUST WE DO TO BE SAVED? “For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Romans 10:9-10 “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 “For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Romans 10:9-10 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8 “No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will also perish.” Luke 13:1-5 “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. I John 1:9-10 “For the Father himself loves you dearly because you love me and believe that I came from God. Yes, I came from the Father into the world, and now I will leave the world and return to the Father.” John 16:27 “Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Romans 6:16
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Romans 5:1
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6
There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
UNDERSTANDING SALVATION
When you ask Jesus into your heart, you are allowing Him to be the Lord of your life. Our sins were paid for by Jesus on the cross. Christ now lives within you. Please understand, becoming a Christian does not mean we will be perfect. We will sin again. Sin breaks the intimate fellowship with God, but it does not separate us from God. Our relationship is still secure. When we sin we must admit our sin, repent, turn from that sin and make every effort not to commit that sin again, asking God to forgive us. God is faithful and merciful. He will immediately restore our fellowship with him.
THE PRAYER OF SALVATION
The Salvation prayer is a communication tool to outwardly express our inward conviction of our faith in Jesus Christ. There is no special formula. Just pray with sincerely from your heart to God, and He will save you. If you are lost and do not have the words to pray here is a sample prayer.
"God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I have done many things that don’t please you. I am sorry and I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. I ask you to forgive me of my sins. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. Please send your Holy Spirit to take control of my life so everything I do is pleasing you. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen."
