About Us

Joy Harris a native of Georgetown, Kentucky is the founder of Inspiring You To Be...Ministries.

As a servant of God, Joy empowers women to be all God has pre-destined them to be as they walk in purpose and destiny. Standing firm on the Word and commands of God, she encourages others to reject the lies of the enemy, lose the chains of the past and diligently press toward the providence of God by humbly submitting their will, plans and desires at his feet.

An anointed servant-leader, as well as a mentor, Joy has a word of encouragement in her mouth and the mandate on her life is to teach the Good News. She has a passion for the lost and a personal vendetta against the enemy, waging war, in the spirit realm, against Satan and his cohorts.

Joy is an experienced inspirational speaker and teacher. Through her compassionate, emphatic approach and transparent teaching style, Joy encourages all of us to embrace the gift of greatness inside each one of us. By challenging others to seek and live a purpose-filled life, she empowers them to be all God has pre-destined them to be as they walk in purpose and destiny.

Joy is a popular mistress of ceremonies and keynote speaker. She is much sought after by local churches, women’s and youth groups, conferences, workshops, seminars and business agencies. She speaks on a number of motivational, practical topics and her message can tailored to fit specific audiences.

Joy is currently working on her first book, “Authentic Joy: Finding True Joy in an Compromising World.” “Authentic Joy” is designed to help others find true joy and peace by seeking the presence of God in the turmoil of a non-spiritual world. Look for the release of “Authentic Joy” in September 2010.

Joy is an active servant at Imani Baptist Church, Lexington, Kentucky under the Pastoral direction of Rev. Willis G. Polk I, Senior Pastor. She believes her true ministry is best served outside the four walls of the church.

In her spare time, Joy enjoys the theater and reading. Finally, she is the proud mother of one child, BronSon [Katie] Harris and grandmother of one, Kaylyn.

EDUCATION
Joy strongly affirms and values continual education. For Joy, learning is a life-long process and life is one of our greatest teachers. Joy holds, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Midway College, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Who’s Who’s among college students. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in [Christian] Counseling at Asbury Theological Seminary.

Joy serves as executive board member and former Campaign For Kids chair for the YMCA Black Achievers program. She is an active executive board member of the Urban League Young Professionals and a small group teacher/mentor for the Step By Step program that aids unwed mothers. Joy is a former Hospice of the Bluegrass volunteer and is very engaged with her church community.

SPEAKING ROLES
Joy is a speaker/teacher and has spoken at local churches, women group, conferences, workshops and business agencies. She uses practical analogies that provide understanding and insight to everyday living and inspire the people of God to move into divine purpose and destiny. For the past three years, Joy has traveled to Osaka, Japan on a nine day mission-trip to share the love of Christ through gospel music, intercessory prayer and mentoring.

Motto:
“If when I give the best of my service and others do not experience the love of Christ then my best service is in vain.”

Her prayer is “Speak Lord your servant is listening; after I hear, I will obey.”

Joy’s main purpose is to give God the praise and glory as she empowers, encourages, inspires and supports others to walk in their God ordained purpose. Isaiah 61:1-3 is her theme Scripture. She gives God ALL the praise and glory for the good things He has done in and through her. She acknowledges that without Him she can do nothing but with Him she can do all things. Joy praises the Lord because His faithful love, mercy, grace, kindness, forgiveness, and compassion endure forever. SELAH!
